Story
Set in the modern age, the story is about Rokujo Miharu, who just wanted to live a normal life and inherit a restaurant. At the moment, his biggest problem was the constant pestering from Aizawa Kouichi and Thobari Kumohira Durandal, who started a Nindō (忍道, Nindo lit. "Way of the Ninja") Club. Miharu wanted nothing to do with "ninjas" and turns them down every time. But soon, he is attacked by an actual group(Kairoshuu灰狼衆) of ninjas and is protected by Kouichi and Kumohira. There, Miharu learns of the hidden ninja world Nabari, the roles of his classmate and teacher in that world, and of the hijutsu(secret techniques) Shinrabanshō (森羅万象, Shinrabansho lit. "all things in nature") within him. The hijutsu, containing all the world's knowledge, is sorely coveted after in Nabari. And because of that, Miharu cannot return to his normal life. He must become the Nabari no Ou("Ruler of Nabari") to survive.

Story
A story around student known as Meisters(職人, shokunin)at the Shinigami Weapon Meister Vocational School(死神武器職人専門学校, Shinigami Buki Shokunin Senmon Gakkō), or Shibusen (死武専, Shibusen) .The school is run by the Death god (Shinigami-sama),as a training facility for weapons created by shinigami and the human wielders of those weapons, the meisters.Each meister has one weapon companion which has both a weapon and human form.This school is an organization to prevent the rebirth of the 'Kishin'---evil demon gods.This school is train all the student to destroyed the 'Kishin'.When the weapon which eat 99 kishin soul and 1 witch soul and the weapon will become the 'Death Scythe'---the shinigami-sama weapon.

舞臺為死神武器職人專門學校，俗稱「死武專」。

故事以稱為「職人」摩訶與「武器」SOUL EATER(噬魂)為主線展開，而其餘各主角總共分為三組。
這所學校是訓練培育「職人」和「武器」為目標，「職人」與「武器」須要組成一組行動。最終目標是要收集99個壞人與1個魔女的靈魂，這樣「武器」就能成為死神大人專用的武器「Death Scythe」。

死武専
正式名稱為死神武器死神武器職人專門學校，身處死神靈魂中央的「死亡城」。是死神名下管培養理「職人」和「武器」的教育機構，是管理分散到全世界Death Scythe的總部。現存有八位稱為Death Scythe的武器，而暫時未有人能為Death Scythe。「死武専」是為了防止鬼神出現而創立的組織。

今日惊悚の事

本来我的学校来了一位新老师（男），由于我是就读女校本来就阴胜阳衰，加上这位老师有点＂娘＂所以我们都很怕他来我们的上课。

今天真是吓我一跳，由于我班的数学老师怀孕要休养，所以就由这一位娘老师来代课。=_=
原本就知道他有点凶，今天就见识到了这位老师的＂功力＂了。本来因为他凶，班上就处在安静的状态，但是还是有一位同学被老师抓到在说话，我们本来心里都想着：死啦～好叫不叫，竟然叫到我们班最不能得罪的人。0.0

正好，这位同学穿新的校服，所以没有粘上校徽，老师就问她为什么她没有粘校徽但是，由于这同学两手交叉，加上不大理睬老师，老师便＂大开杀界＂，不知是老师想给我们一个下马威，把我们骂得＂狗血淋头＂，越骂越离谱，骂到我们都快受不了真想冲上前去打他。
最后，下课了。刚才那位不幸的同学就说了一句话＂你要玩我就和你玩个够！＂这时，吓人的画面出现了这同学拿起刀片就往自己手上割！哇靠！够狠的了，割了四条痕叻（而且很深，留血了=_=）

我们都很同情她，但也觉得她有点笨，为什么要沦落到自残的地步
